Sunbutter & Anthro Finds

Guys, Sunbutter is good!!! I must lead with this because I was somewhat shocked.  I’ve been borderline obsessing about this book I’m reading (It Starts With Food).  I’ve only been reading it at night, so it’s taking me a while to get through it.  But I’m not against reading it slowly because it’s a lot of information to digest (pun always intended).  So if you’re at all into paleo, try some Sunbutter.  I got mine at Walmart…way to go, Walmart!  I was somewhat shocked they carried sunflower seed butter.  They’re changing their image.  I have read that Whole Foods are struggling now that every grocer seems to realize society is becoming more nutritionally educated and no longer want to ingest fake food.  Way to go, society!

While I am making recommendations, I want to delve into my newly acquired fashion expertise (ha) and share some recent buys that I LOVE.  Just don’t tell, Matt 😉 Of course these things are from Anthropologie where I get everything with a killer employee discount.  Prior to working there, I never ventured out of the sale closet.  Lucky for you, these items will probably be hitting the sale room soon (b/c everything does. Don’t tell Anthro I told you).

Item numero uno: Nokota Buttondown
This Anthro model looks a little too preppy for my taste, but I have been wearing the heck out of this thang, tied in front over a sweeping maxi dress.  It’s ridiculously soft (the Cloth & Stone brand is really good at making things feel like bed sheets) and reminds me of my mama, who always wore a shirt like this in the ’90s.

Item numero dos: Valley Bolo Necklace
I practiced serious self control (I thought) giving this necklace a week of consideration before buying.  After seeing two other Anthro gals wear it so well, I caved and got it.  I love what long necklaces can do for the flat-chested woman, like myself.  Really accentuates the valley and adds some dimension, if you know what I mean.  Does anyone else like long necklaces for that reason, or am I making things awkward?

Item numero tres:  The Magical Turquoise Dress
It’s no wonder that I cannot find this dress online anywhere!  I was in love with it when we got it in back in March, but was offended by it’s price tag.  I have a theory that anything sold in Anthropologie with beading is marked up by at least $100.  This dress was originally $298.  My 60 percent off couldn’t justify buying it.  It went on sale.  I came in ready to buy one for the marked down $60 and they were gone!  Cleared off the rack by hungry shoppers.  Oh well, not meant to be.  A week later someone returned a size 8 to the store.  My size.  I decided God must want me to have this dress.  hah.  Divine retail intervention?  Probably a rare deal.  I just worked out and am in no condition to model it, but my trusty girls were happy to be my spokes models…

There you have it.  My perfect turquoise dress. Someday, when my hair isn’t slicked back with sweat, I’ll model it for you.  For now, this Craigslist-quality, laundry room door photo will have to do.
